Disabling POP UPs on Main desktops from Google
Sometimes while working, you will get a pop up on your screen such as this:
This is due to GOOGLE now embedding their notifications into windows. It also comes from adware that some of you may have accidentally agreed to allow advertisements. To fix this you must disable or block these notifications. Below are the steps:
1) Launch GOOGLE CHROME
2)Make sure that you do not have erroneous extensions running. To do so, click on the MENU button(3 dots at top right) and select MORE TOOLS, followed by EXTENSIONS:
3) Remove ALL UNKNOWN extensions. CHROME APPS can stay
4) Once all UNKNOWN extensions have been removed ( in the example above, PDF converter and EASYPDFCombine have been removed), click on the menu again and select SETTINGS:
5) Once in the SETTINGS area, in the search box, type in NOTIFICATIONS and press ENTER on keyboard:
6) Once results are shown, scroll down. Google will highlight the notifications area:
7) Select CONTENT SETTINGS
8)Click on NOTIFICATIONS):(Google will have highlighted the area for you)
9)You can either BLOCK all notifications or select the MENU button next to each allowed notification to block specific ones:
10) And that is all. Exit GOOGLE and re-open it.
