Viewing Cameras From Home or Away From Center - HikVision
To remotely access Hikvision cameras from a Windows computer, the iVMS-4200 software is required. Follow these steps to set up and configure remote viewing.
Step 1: Network Configuration

If the center uses Ubiquiti network equipment, the Ubiquiti Gateway can be used to configure network settings.

If the center does not use Ubiquiti, port forwarding rules must be configured through the Internet Service Provider (ISP).
- The following ports must be forwarded over TCP and UDP:

Port 100 – HTTP

Port 8000 – Server
Step 2: NVR Port Configuration
- The Network Video Recorder (NVR) ports are configured by an on-site technician.
- The standard ports used are:

Port 100 for HTTP

Port 8000 for the server
Step 3: Download and Install iVMS-4200
- Visit the official Hikvision iVMS-4200 software download page:
Download iVMS-4200 for Windows
- Click on the link under Software to download the installer.
- Once the download is complete, launch the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Step 4: Add the Camera System
- Open iVMS-4200.

For first-time users, create a login account to access the camera system.
- Navigate to Device Management > Device > (+) Add.
- Enter the following details:

Center Name: Assign a recognizable name.

IP Address:
- If accessing from outside the center, enter the public IP address (which can be found by visiting this link from a center computer).

Port: 8000

CCTV Username & Password: Enter the login credentials for the camera system.
Step 5: Confirm Connectivity
- Ensure the device status displays “Online” under Resource Usage Status.
Step 6: View Live Cameras
- Navigate to Groups and select Create Group by Device Name.
- This will automatically import all available cameras from the system.
- To view live footage:
- Click on the four squares icon.
- Select Main View.
- Choose the camera you want to view.
- Click the Play button to start the live stream.
