Door Access - Controller Reboot
This guide provides step-by-step instructions for resetting the Axis A1601 door controller and its attached Wavelynx readers by performing a power cycle. This process can help resolve connectivity issues or restore functionality to the controller and connected devices.
Prerequisites

Access to the Controller: Ensure you can safely open the lid of the Axis A1601 controller to access its internal components.

Tools: a torx security screwdriver (T20H) which would have come with the Axis A1601 controllers in the box.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Turn Off Battery Backup
- Locate the battery backup system inside the controller.
- Press and hold its power button for approximately 10 seconds to ensure no power is being sent to the system.

2. Open the Controller Lid
- Loosen the screw on the lid until you can open the lid of the Axis A1601 controller to access the internal panel.

3. Disconnect Reader Blocks
- Locate the two reader blocks inside the controller (typically positioned on the left side).
- Pull out both blocks to disconnect the readers from the controller.
4. Disconnect Ethernet Cable
- Remove the Ethernet cable from its port on the controller to reset network connectivity.
5. Unplug External Power Source
- Find the external power source (usually a black connector at the top of the panel)
- Unplug this connector to fully power down the unit.
6. Wait
- Allow a few seconds for all components to fully discharge before reconnecting them.
7. Reconnect Components
- Reinsert both reader blocks.
- Turn on the battery backup by pressing its power button.
- Reconnect the Ethernet cable.
- Plug in the external power source.
Once completed please check that the system function has returned to normal by confirming that all doors unlock using a phone and fob, as well as verifying that new credentials are able to sync.
